Supported Missionary Efforts

DMSC is led by our very own Lynn and Margie Newton, and has blessed our church for many years. The main mission of the ministry is to feed God’s people a hearty meal weekly and provide a time of fellowship around the table. DMSC operates nearly every Wednesday evening and all are welcome to attend.

Temple Church is part of a team of churches who, together, support Pastor Michael Mbogo as he leads God’s people in Embu Kenya. Thanks to the faithful support of Temple Church and others, Gospel Community Fellowship has been able to purchase land and buildings in multiple locations in Kenya, train pastors to faithfully teach sound Biblical doctrine, and lead many to Christ. In addition to faithfully leading God’s people, Pastor Michael works his family farm to support his ministry and family.

Temple Church regularly supports a missionary organization serving Christians and sharing the Gospel of Christ in communist regions of East-Asia. Given the hostile and dangerous nature of working in this environment, Temple Church has elected to not publish details of the mission organization on our site. Information such as financial reports and ministry needs for this mission are kept at Temple Church for viewing by anyone who wants more information on these mission efforts. We remain in regular contact with the State-side missionary offices and get regular updates and communications from the missionaries on the ground in these locations.

Our church supports Fred and Madeline Van-Klingerin who are ministers of the Gospel of Christ in Romania. The Van-Klingerins regularly return to the United States and visit us and other churches supporting them to update us on their missionary work.

Pastor Patrick Ballard leads a ministry to long-term care homes in many locations of Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. Patrick holds regular services, visits with parishioners, and leads worship as a talented musician in various nursing homes in the area.
